About

My name is L. Loo Wales and I own The Ink Machine, LLC.

I have a bachelors degree in Medical Illustration and I am a self-taught tattoo artist following the guidelines of the Broome County Health Department. I also freelance in graphic design, business branding, and illustrations (like comics and stuff).

I am a caffeine addict, love rollerskating, and enjoy cartoons and video games. I have 2 cats named Renaldo Moon, Baron Hubert von Gikkingen, and Odin my partner’s cat who will be at the temporary location (whom are not allowed in the studio, but you can say hi to them before and after if you like. They would enjoy that.)

An artist cannot have art without inspiration! And I have a few I draw inspiration from! Craig McCracken (powerpuff Girls, Foster’s Home for Imaginary Friend’s, Csomic Kid, etc), Jamie Hewlett (Tank Girl and the Gorillaz), and Vivienne Medrano (Hazbin Hotel and Helluva Boss).

Special Features about my studio!

  • I am queer and non-binary! LGBTQia2s+ friendly! All are welcome and it is a safe space
  • I offer after-care tattoo kits.
  • I work after hours, come in after you get out of work because you shouldn’t have to ask for time off to get something you enjoy
  • relaxing atmosphere. I will not play heavy metal (unless requested). I see tattoos are therapeutic rather than channeling negative energy. I usually listen to lounge music, a soft and relaxing playlist, or something a bit upbeat.
  • Free custom designs! I design tattoos with a few things in mind; how your body moves, and how it will change over time. I feel tattoos are more beautiful and have more life when they are designed with the motion of muscles or the way the skin moves.
  • Flash Fridays! Check out the flash art page to pick a flash art! I’ll really do them any day, but there’s a 10% discount on Fridays.
  • 10% discount when you pay in cash opposed to card

This is Odin (I call him Canned Odin because his head looks like he stuck it in a can sideways). This is my partner’s cat, and he is at the temporary location. He is skittish and will probably not come out.

Baron Hubert von Gikkingen is turning 2 years old! He is a big boy at 15 lbs and absolutely loves attention. He is more of a dog than a cat. He is named after the cat statue that comes to life in the movie, The Cats Return. The head of the human-cat embassy.

Renaldo Moon is 4 years old. He’s got a snappy attitude and likes to cause trouble. His favorite toy is a tiny skunk named Dolly. He is named after the notorious outlaw in the movie The Cats Return, where the character gets banned from cat town for eating all the fish.
